Compare packages on equal terms.

Unit price divides the package price by its quantity. A $4.99, 32-ounce package costs about $0.156 per ounce. A $3.19, 14-ounce package costs about $0.228 per ounce, so the larger package is cheaper per ounce.

Compare like with like. Weight and liquid volume are different measurements, and a lower unit price is only useful when the product, quality, and amount you can actually use are comparable.

The calculator assumes the package quantity is accurate and that both options can be compared using the selected measurement. It does not account for quality, freshness, usable yield, waste, package deposits, coupons, loyalty pricing, or differences in product formulation.

For metric weight and volume, the display basis is 100 grams or 100 milliliters. For US customary measurements, it is one ounce or one fluid ounce. These are comparison bases, not conversions between weight and volume.
